AUBURN, Ala.- Effective Dec. 16, Auburn Parks and Recreation will begin winterizing and closing the outdoor water fountains at all City of Auburn parks and playgrounds to prevent damage from freezing temperatures.

This seasonal closure is part of routine maintenance to ensure the water fountains remain in good condition for public use. The fountains will reopen in the spring when warmer weather allows for safe operation.

While outdoor water fountains will be unavailable, all park and playground bathrooms will remain open during regular park hours, and indoor faucets and water fountains will be left on .

The City of Auburn encourages park-goers to plan accordingly.
